PlayMetrics AYSOU Records and Concussion Certification
Returning volunteers’ AYSOU training records should connect to their PlayMetrics profile. However, an expired or missing requirement can reflect either a renewal requirement or an account-matching issue.
Concussion certification expiration is now enforced
Previously, expiration of concussion certification was not enforced in AYSOU. Certifications now expire according to the renewal period configured for the volunteer’s state.
An existing certification may therefore show as expired even though the volunteer previously completed the course. This does not necessarily mean the training record was lost.
Concussion renewal periods
The following categories reflect AYSO’s state-specific training guidance.
| Renewal period | States |
|---|---|
| One-time requirement / no renewal enforced | Alaska, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont |
| Every 3 years | Arkansas, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina |
| Every 2 years | District of Columbia, Idaho, Iowa |
| Annual | Alabama, Colorado, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming |
If your state is not listed or you have questions about the requirement shown in your profile, contact support@ayso.org.
If your concussion certification has expired
Complete the current concussion course assigned to you directly in AYSOU/etrainu.
Third-party certificates are not accepted for this AYSO requirement.
A correction to a missing or mismatched training record does not extend its original completion date. If that completion falls outside the applicable renewal period, the volunteer must renew the training.
If completed training is missing
Some volunteers’ valid concussion or Safe Haven completions have not matched the course version checked by PlayMetrics. A volunteer may also be linked to the wrong or a duplicate AYSOU/etrainu account.
If you completed training in AYSOU/etrainu but it does not appear correctly in PlayMetrics, contact AYSO Support (support@ayso.org) before assuming you need to repeat it. The team can review the training history and account connection.
