PlayMetrics - Do Not Open MY2026 Registration

PlayMetrics is for Fall MY2027 registration, which can open after February 1, 2027. All Regions must continue using Sports Connect for MY2026 Core registration, including Winter and Spring programs—even if your Region already uses PlayMetrics for club teams.

Why Regions must wait

Duplicate National Player Fee invoicing

Sports Connect and PlayMetrics do not communicate with each other. Players who already paid their National Player Fee (NPF) through Sports Connect will be invoiced again when registered in PlayMetrics.

This happens even if your Region does not configure its program to collect the NPF.

Automatic invoicing and bank withdrawal

AYSO will invoice the Region for every player registered in PlayMetrics. The full invoiced amount will be automatically withdrawn from the Region’s bank account 10 days after the invoice is sent.

Manual payment reconciliation — Not an Approved Workaround

Sports Connect player IDs do not migrate to PlayMetrics. Matching players to previous NPF payments would require the Region to manually identify those players and submit proof of payment to the AYSO Office.

With approximately 500 Regions transitioning, the AYSO Office cannot manage this reconciliation for Regions. This process would be time-consuming and could significantly delay the review and refund of eligible NPF payments.

Manual payment reconciliation is not an approved workaround for opening MY2026 registration early. Regions should follow the established MY2026 registration process to avoid payment reconciliation issues and potential delays in receiving refunds.

Insurance coverage

Players who have not paid their National Player Fee are not insured. Proper fee collection and accurate registration records are essential.

Volunteer access and repeat background checks

Regions cannot be connected to the new governing system until the beginning of 2027. Until connected, volunteers will not have access to AYSOU or JDP background screening through the new system.

Once connected, volunteers who completed their MY2026 background checks through Sterling would need another screening through JDP for Spring.

What your Region should do now

  • Continue using Sports Connect for all MY2026 Core registration.
  • Use your PlayMetrics access for setup and training.
  • Prepare for Fall MY2027 registration, which can open after February 1, 2027.
  • Do not mix MY2026 players and volunteers with MY2027 registration.

Following this timeline helps avoid duplicate fees, unnecessary background checks and additional manual work for your volunteers.
