AYSO Wiki:Add a PDF to a Page

From AYSO Wiki

The AYSO Wiki has the ability to embed PDFs on pages when using a desktop browser. On Mobile this doesn't work and will display a link to download the PDF instead. You can also just provide a link to download if displaying the form on the page isn't useful.

Embedding a PDF

1. Upload the PDF to the Wiki if the PDF will be hosted on the Wiki. You can skip this step if you're linking to a PDF on another site.

2. In the page where you want the PDF to appear, Insert a Template called PDF

Add PDF Template

3. If you are hosting the PDF on the Wiki, use the File Name on the Wiki text box. It will help autocomplete the filename. If you are hosting the PDF elsewhere, use the URL for PDF Not on the Wiki box and paste the URL there.

Do not worry if it doesn't look right when editing the page. You may see text with the words "WIDGET" in it as follows:

Widgets don't work with the visual editor

4. Save the page and your PDF will be embedded on the page.

Making a link to a PDF

1. Upload the PDF to the Wiki if the PDF will be hosted on the Wiki. You can skip this step if you're linking to a PDF on another site.

2. Insert the Template called Download

3. Fill out the information in the box. The first one is the PDF link. This can either be a Wiki link or an external one. There is no autocomplete, and wiki links should be preceded with "Media:"

The link will now appear with a large green box to the left of it as in this example:
