Region Website Clean URLs

From AYSO Wiki

Regions have the ability to use their Sports Connect portal as their main website. This is highly encouraged. However, when a new page is created the URL for that page is not very friendly. For example: https://www.aysoxxx.org/Default.aspx?tabid=937996

Sports Connect does provide a way to use clean, human readable, URLs when you send links or advertise a specific page on your region portal.

The page title can be used in place of the Default.aspx?tabid=xxx part of the URL.

Examples:

https://www.middlevilleayso.org/Default.aspx?tabid=937996 and https://www.middlevilleayso.org/aboutus

https://www.ayso65.org/Default.aspx?tabid=959217 and https://www.ayso65.org/parents/parents

Tips and Tricks

  • Remove the spaces from your page titles.
    • About Us becomes aboutus.
  • Nested pages need to include the pages/folders above it.
    • A page named Refund Policy nested within Registration becomes /registration/refundpolicy
  • Any page titles with ampersands [&] must have them dropped
    • A page named Pet Policy & Goal Safety becomes /petpolicygoalsafety

The page titles can be used as URLs

In the above screenshot you can see the page titles that can be used in URLs. To send a visitor to the Our Programs page you would give them the URL aysoxxx.org/ourprograms. To send someone to the AYSO Kids Zone page you would give them the URL aysoxxx.org/faq/aysokidszone

The pages nested under FAQ can be reached by using /faq/goodsportsmanship

The page What is AYSO? can be reached with the URL aysoxxx.org/faq/whatisayso?

However, the Pet Policy & Goal Safety page can be reached with the URL aysoxxx.org/faq/petpolicygoalsafety
